VU Tennis advances in 8 of 9 flights at NJCAA National Championship Tournament

PLANO, Tex. – The top-ranked and defending NJCAA Div. I Tennis Champions, the Vincennes University Trailblazers, won six singles and two of three doubles matches Tuesday to move within one point of the leaders entering the quarterfinals of this year's NJCAA National Tennis Championship at Collin College in Plano, TX.
Collin, Laredo and Tyler were tied for the lead with 27 points each. Georgia Perimeter was tied with VU for fourth place.

Pauli, Bermudez win 3-setter to open NJCAA National Tennis Championship

PLANO, Texas – Freshman Erick Bermudez and sophomore J.C. Pauli outlasted Johnson County’s No.1 doubles team, 6-2, 6-7(2), 7-5, at first doubles Monday to open the Vincennes University Tennis Team's NJCAA title defense at the 2012 NJCAA National Championship Tennis Tournament at Collin County College in Plano, TX.
It was a match of shifting momentum with the Trailblazers serving for the match at 5-2 in the second set before Johnson rode a wave of VU errors to a 6-5 lead.
VU Assistant Coach Brian Slack coached on the court for the entire two-plus hours.
