VU Volleyball hosts Blazer Classic this weekend in 2014 season opener

VU Trailblazer Volleyball's 2014 season gets going THIS WEEKEND when the Trailblazers host the 2014 Blazer Classic at the VU P.E. Complex.
The Trailblazers welcome Edison, Kalamazoo Valley, Lake Land and Rend Lake to town for the two-day event.
VU takes on Rend Lake at about 2:45 p.m. Friday. The Trailblazers return Friday night to face Kalamazoo Valley around 7:45 p.m. On Saturday, VU matches up with Edison at 12 p.m. Noon and Lake Land at about 3:15 p.m.

Tyler Johnston chosen as VU Trailblazer tennis coach

Vincennes University has named Tyler Johnston as its new tennis coach, replacing Ron Albers who led the Trailblazer tennis program for 34 years before retiring last spring.
Johnston comes to VU after serving as the director of junior tennis development and assistant director of adult development for the Wilmington Area Tennis Association in Wilmington, OH. He has also worked in the Wilmington City Schools’ high school and junior high athletic department.

VU completes recruiting class with Cory Thomas’ signing; Louisville product was Kentucky’s No. 3 scorer

The Vincennes University Men’s Basketball Team has completed its recruiting class for 2014-15 by signing Coryontez “Cory” Thomas, the third-leading high school scorer in the state of Kentucky last season.
Thomas, a 6-1, 180-pound combo guard from Fairdale High School in Louisville who brings VU’s roster to 15 players, averaged 26.4 points, 7.7 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game for the Bulldogs.
