Vincennes University men’s basketball signs DJ Brewton

VINCENNES, Ind. – The Vincennes University men's basketball team has received the commitment of DJ Brewton (Cincinatti, Ohio) to join the Blazers for the 20-21 season. The 6'3 guard spent the past year playing for NCAA Div. I school Alcorn State University where he registered five double digit scoring games and went on an impressive run late in the season. Prior to playing for Alcorn State, Brewton played at Dohn Prep where he averaged 30 points, 10 rebounds, and 5 assists.

VU Head Coach Todd Franklin says . . .

"This is a guy who really started to come in to his comfort zone and excel in the second half of the season last year. He started showing more and more his ability to hit shots when called upon. DJ knows how to beat the first guy and use his body, which is a presence I really think we can use. The way he handles the ball, you'd think he's a lefty if you weren't paying attention, really versatile. On top of this, he's getting the grades too, a true student athlete that we're excited to have join the family."
