Elijah Lovemore has been surrounded by basketball for as long as he can remember—growing up inspired by the city’s competitive spirit and hometown hero Derrick Rose, whose story mirrors his own dream of resilience and redemption. Motivated by family and the memory of “fallen ones,” Elijah steps on the court each day determined to make every moment count.

His most memorable performance came when he scored 43 points at the Made Hoops event—a breakout that cemented his identity as both a scorer and leader. Wearing No. 1, the number he’s grown attached to throughout his career, he takes pride in setting the tone early and leading by example. Guided by his personal motto “Me vs. Me,” he embraces accountability as the key to improvement. His goals this season are simple but bold: make an immediate impact and help his team win as much as possible.

Off the floor, Elijah’s personality shines. Known for his humor and calm confidence, he enjoys movies, video games, and time spent relaxing with friends. His favorite food is nachos or tacos, and he admits he can’t go a week without his phone—or a good conversation, since he “likes to listen to people vent.” He finds motivation in music from Lil Durk and loves traveling anywhere tropical, especially the Bahamas.

Elijah chose Vincennes University because it represented both opportunity and culture—“a place where winning is expected, and the work never stops.” Pursuing a degree in Psychology, he hopes to take basketball as far as possible while growing as a leader on and off the court.
