Bio

At VU, Connor “CJ” Hedge's season goals are straightforward: to do well on the bowling team and continue improving as a bowler. For the team, he wants nothing less than to win a championship. Known for his cool and easygoing demeanor, Connor says when people first meet him, they usually just think, “he is cool.” He embraces the advice that there’s always “too much good advice” to choose from, but he takes to heart his own motto: “be better than your dad.” Motivated by his father, Jason, he says his greatest drive is to one day surpass him and make him proud.

Off the lanes, Connor is majoring in Welding Technology, with career plans of starting in a welding job before eventually taking over his dad’s business. His hobbies include mowing lawns, golf, bowling, and hanging out with friends, and he admits that nobody knows how much he overthinks. He can’t imagine a week without his friends, loves pizza, and lists F1 as his favorite movie, baseball as his favorite sport to watch, and Sober as his favorite song. He also admires Jackie Robinson as a historical figure, saying he’d like to meet him for the inspiration he gave to baseball.

Connor chose Vincennes University because of the welding program and the fit it offered both academically and athletically. Supported by his parents, Jason and Jenny Hedge, and sibling Kendall, Connor says the best part of being an athlete at VU is the help and friendships you make. With his humor, determination, and motto to always chase improvement, CJ is ready to make his mark with the Trailblazers.
