Bio

Paul LeMond enters his fourth season at the helm of the Vincennes University Bowling program, bringing decades of championship experience and a lifelong dedication to the sport. Under his leadership, the Trailblazers have enjoyed strong results over the past two seasons, posting multiple top‑five finishes in regular‑season tournaments, winning one title, and earning berths in the USBC Sectionals each year.

The 2024–25 campaign continued that momentum, as VU opened the season with a runner-up finish at the Dirty Bird Classic in Jackson, Michigan, posting a team score of 2,803 pins in traditional play and 1,899 pins in Baker games. The team also turned in a third-place showing at the American Heartland Bowling Association tournament, highlighted by standout individual performances from sophomore Dakota Waskom (Louisville, Ky.) (850 pins, 11th), sophomore Nick Gregg (Salem, Ill.) (836 pins, 15th), and sophomore Dylan Lewis (Louisville, Ky.) (800 pins, 20th). The Trailblazers capped the season with a strong effort at the USBC Intercollegiate Sectionals, finishing 15th overall with a total of 11,945 pins.

A highly respected figure in the bowling community, LeMond is a Hall of Fame member in both the Jasper Bowling Association and the Indiana State USBC. His coaching career spans more than two decades at the high school level, where he guided his teams to 17 Conference Championships, 11 Sectional Championships, 5 Regional Championships, 1 Semi-State Championship, and 7 State Finals appearances — highlighted by one Indiana State Championship. In addition, he spent 14 years coaching middle school bowling, capturing 3 State Championships and producing 8 State Finalist teams. LeMond has held USBC Silver Coach certification since 2005.

Before joining VU in 2022, LeMond owned and operated Eastown Recreation Center, Inc. in Jasper, Indiana for 22 years, building it into a hub for competitive and recreational bowling. He has also been a member of the Professional Bowling Association since 2004, competing in national and regional tournaments across the country.

LeMond’s passion for bowling has roots in his service in the United States Air Force (1981–1989) and Air National Guard (1991–1993). While stationed in Turkey, he earned a spot on the base bowling team, was named to the All-Turkish Team, and placed in the top 10 during European qualifications.

Paul and his wife, Susan, have been married for 32 years. Paul has three children, two of whom are pursuing careers in the bowling industry.
