Mollo and Lucas lead Blazers to best finish in three years
CINCINNATI, Ohio – The Vincennes University Blazer bowlers hit the road this past weekend to take part in the Orange & Black Classic. The Trailblazers came away with a sixth-place finish overall, with a team score of 4789 and a Baker score of 3183. Vincennes lost in three games during the best-of-three match play round.

VU was led by sophomore Dylan Mollo (Centerville, Ind.) who finished with a total of 1070 pins for an average score of 214, including a team-high game of 256.
Mollo was followed by freshman Brighton Lucas (Salem, Ind.) who also cracked the 1000 pin barrier, for a score of 1043.
Lucas was very consistent during the five games, finishing with a high-score of 222 and all five rounds being above 200 pins.
Sophomore Alex Wiles (Bloomington, Ind.) was the third highest VU finisher, ending with 991 pins and a high of 214.
Freshmen Reyce Buchanan (Indianapolis, Ind.) and Garrison Taladay (Terre Haute, Ind.) round out the Vincennes scoring, with Buchanan finishing with 873 pins and a high of 213 and Talalday ending with 812 and a high of 201.
Mollo and Lucas both placed in the Top-15 on the individual leaderboards, with Mollo coming away with a 10th-place finish and Lucas ending at 12th.
Alex Wiles also found a spot near the top of the leaderboard, placing 28th in a tournament with over 175 bowlers.
The Trailblazers will now turn their attention to the Western Shootout, taking place this Saturday, Oct. 16 and concluding Sunday, Oct. 17 in Indianapolis.
