Bio

Artezz Butler-Sanders enters the season focused on measurable performance goals. Individually, he is aiming to beat his personal records, challenge existing marks in the 200 and 400, and continue improving his national standing. From a team standpoint, his priorities include building a strong 4x400 relay, improving team chemistry, and helping as many teammates as possible qualify for nationals. His most memorable athletic moment came during the indoor season, where he competed in both the 4x400 relay and distance medley relay, recorded personal bests, and “put his name out there.”

Artezz identifies his mother and himself as his primary sources of motivation. He lives by the advice that “putting in work takes time — keep trying every day to get better,” and notes that since arriving at Vincennes, he has learned to stay humble and continue pushing forward even when the odds are against him.

Academically, Artezz majors in Business Association and plans to pursue multiple career paths, including real estate, accounting, barbering, and reselling. He lists English as his favorite class at VU and values balancing academics with athletics.

Away from the track, Artezz enjoys skating, cooking, gaming, basketball, and spending time with friends. His favorite food is pizza, his favorite snack is peach rings, and he enjoys watching basketball. He lists Danny Phantom as his favorite TV show, and says he can’t imagine a week without his family. He is often described as someone who “knows how to dress” and is recognized for his distinctive style.

Artezz chose Vincennes University because it provided him with an opportunity to continue both his academic and athletic career.
