Bio
Chase Guthrie enters the season with clear competitive goals across the jumps and sprint events. Competing in the long jump, triple jump, 100 meters, 200 meters, and 4x100 relay, he is focused on qualifying for nationals and placing at the national level. From a team standpoint, his priority is helping more than five teammates reach the podium at nationals, emphasizing collective success alongside individual achievement. His most memorable athletic moment came when he qualified for and competed at indoor nationals with the team.
Chase draws motivation from the people around him, aiming to show others that success is possible through persistence and belief. He lives by the mindset of continual progress, believing in steady growth and forward movement. Since arriving at Vincennes, he has developed stronger time-management skills and improved focus, traits that have helped him balance training, competition, and academics.
Academically, Chase majors in Theatre and plans to pursue a future in acting, with aspirations of becoming a full-time performer and content creator. He lists Costume Shop as his favorite class at VU and values the opportunity to combine creative expression with the structure and discipline of collegiate athletics.
Away from competition, Chase spends his time creating YouTube content, playing video games, golfing, and producing music and videos. He lists burgers as his favorite food, honeybuns as his preferred late-night snack, and enjoys watching basketball. He names Transformers as his favorite movie, says he can’t imagine a week without music, and is often described as friendly when first meeting new people.
Chase chose Vincennes University for the strong bond he shares with his teammates and the environment that allows him to grow both athletically and personally while pursuing his academic and creative goals.
