Bio
Avery Lambirth approaches the season with a dual focus on academic consistency and measurable progress on the track. Competing as a sprinter in the 110-meter hurdles and 400-meter hurdles, he is intent on lowering his times while maintaining strong classroom performance. From a team perspective, his emphasis is on steady improvement year over year, building momentum through shared accountability. His most memorable athletic moment came when his team captured a regional championship, a result that reinforced the value of preparation and collective effort.
Avery is driven by a personal standard rooted in daily progress, guided by the belief that a day is not wasted if improvement is made. While naturally quiet when first meeting others, he brings a focused, workmanlike approach to training and competition. Since arriving at Vincennes, he has learned how to better navigate college systems and routines while continuing to refine his discipline and time management.
Academically, Avery majors in Construction Management and plans to pursue a career as a construction manager. He lists Framing as his favorite class at VU and values coursework that directly connects to his intended profession. His long-term goal is to pair technical knowledge with leadership experience gained through athletics.
Outside of competition, Avery spends his time playing video games, basketball, shopping, and training. He lists orange chicken as his favorite food and peanut butter and jelly as his go-to snack. He enjoys watching basketball, names Jurassic World as his favorite movie, and says he can’t imagine a week without his phone. Though reserved by nature, he is highly motivated by a strong desire to succeed and consistently push forward.
Avery chose Vincennes University because it supported both his athletic development and his career path, providing the structure, coaching, and academic alignment needed to continue progressing in track and field and beyond.
Coach Mangan on Avery...
