Bio
Keagan Turner enters the season working back toward full strength while preparing to contribute across multiple events. Competing in the sprints, long jump, pole vault, and relays, his immediate focus is regaining momentum after a knee injury and continuing to progress academically. One of his most memorable athletic moments came in high school, when he cleared 19 feet, 5 inches in the long jump as a sophomore—an early indicator of his versatility and potential.
Keagan is driven by personal accountability and family influence, motivated by his father’s encouragement to always be better than the day before. He carries a self-focused mindset into training, guided by the advice to concentrate on his own growth rather than comparisons. Known for a laid-back sense of humor, he balances competitiveness with an appreciation for teamwork and connection.
In the classroom, Keagan majors in Fire Science and Safety and plans to pursue a career as a firefighter, with the possibility of adding a side profession in the future. He values the structure and purpose of the program and chose Vincennes for its alignment with his long-term career goals in public service.
Away from the track, Keagan enjoys video games, watching shows, and working through puzzles and puzzle-based games. He lists Mexican food as his favorite, baked chips as his go-to snack, and enjoys watching college football. He names The Amazing Spider-Man as his favorite movie and says he can’t imagine a week without internet access. When people first meet him, he often leaves a lighthearted impression, reflecting his easygoing personality.
Keagan chose Vincennes University for its Fire Science program and the opportunity to grow both academically and athletically, while building strong relationships within a new team environment.
Coach Mangan on Keagan...
"Keagan is working hard to be ready for the short sprints this winter and then continue to build outdoors in the 100 & 200 dashes."
