Bio
Jaden Yates enters the season with confidence and clear performance benchmarks across the sprint and jump events. Competing in the 100 meters, long jump, and 4x100 relay, his individual goals include clearing the 23-foot mark in the long jump and running 11.4 or better in the 100. From a team perspective, his expectations are high, centered on an undefeated season and championship finishes both indoors and outdoors. One of the most memorable moments of his career came with a long-awaited win over a rival program, ending a multi-year drought and reinforcing his competitive edge.
Jaden is largely self-driven, motivated by personal standards and belief in his own ability. He operates with a mindset he describes as “cocky but confident,” balanced by advice he values deeply: stay humble. Often viewed as laid-back when first meeting others, he brings intensity when it’s time to compete, relying on self-belief rather than external pressure.
Academically, Jaden majors in Sports Management and sees multiple future paths, including professional athletics or a career connected to his field of study. He values the opportunity to reset and build momentum in both academics and athletics, viewing Vincennes as a fresh start aligned with his long-term goals.
Away from competition, Jaden spends his time listening to music, creating and watching content on social media, shopping, and gaming. He lists meatloaf as his favorite food, chips as his go-to snack, and enjoys watching track and football. He names Cooper Kupp as his favorite athlete and says he can’t imagine a week without his phone. Teammates often describe him as easygoing, a trait that contrasts with his focused approach on the runway and track.
Jaden chose Vincennes University for the opportunity to start fresh, compete at a high level, and continue developing toward both athletic success and future career opportunities.
