Bio
At VU, Henry Dybsetter’s goals are focused on growth and consistency. Individually, he is aiming to set new personal records and keep pace with some of the program’s top runners. He embraces the advice that “results take time,” keeping him grounded as he works toward long-term goals. He cites his friends, teammates, and family as motivators, as well as fellow runner Carson Brown, who he has competed alongside and considers one of the best athletes he’s faced. Henry also values the opportunity to travel with the team, noting that one of the best parts of being an athlete at VU is the chance to “see new places.”
Off the track, Henry is majoring in Information Technology TSAP and hopes to one day open his own computer repair shop. His hobbies include gaming, hiking, chess, and fixing things, and he describes himself as a little shy at first but deeply focused on the things he enjoys. Known for his humor and quirks, Henry admits he can’t imagine a week without his phone, loves filled donuts, and often leans on his motto: “The faster you run, the faster you’re done.”
Henry chose Vincennes University because it provided the right balance of athletics, academics, and support to help him reach his goals. With his curiosity, persistence, and determination to improve, he looks forward to making an impact as both a student-athlete and a teammate for the Trailblazers.
Coach Steigenga on Henry...
"Henry showed tremendous improvement during his senior year of high school, cutting two and a half minutes off his regional time from junior to senior year. We’re excited to continue his development here and see him contribute in cross country and longer distance track events."
