Brody Wilson

Bio

Known for his grit and competitiveness, Brody Wilson embraces the advice to not focus on past races but to keep working toward the next challenge. His personal goals at VU are to stay consistent, improve his times, and ensure he doesn’t fall back as the season progresses. He is motivated by his love of music, support from his family, and his own desire to keep raising the bar. Brody admits that when people first meet him they often think he looks serious, but once they get to know him, they discover he is social, talkative, and passionate about his pursuits.

Off the course, Brody is majoring in Secondary Education in History with aspirations of becoming a teacher, and potentially earning a master’s degree at Indiana University. He enjoys working out, hunting, cooking, and spending time with family, and says he can’t imagine a week without streaming shows or music. His favorites include Criminal Minds, Happy Gilmore, and the country music of Jon Pardi, and he lists steak cooked rare as his go-to favorite food. He also credits his faith, taking inspiration from Jesus and historical figures like Jimmy Rodgers, the father of country music.

Brody chose Vincennes University because of the welcoming environment, affordability, and the opportunity to compete in a program that values both athletics and academics. With his leadership experience, competitive mindset, and motto to keep moving forward, he looks forward to making an impact for the Trailblazers in both cross country and track.

"If given the choice, Brody would probably prefer the track over cross country in the fall, but that hasn’t affected his work ethic or drive to succeed. He’ll be a key contributor for us, especially in the middle-distance events during track season."
