Bio

Motivated by her parents, Angel and Joey Davidson, who both played basketball, Jalyn 'Jay' Davidson grown up around the game and learned to compete with discipline and love.

Her most memorable athletic moment came when she helped her high school team win regionals, a championship that deepened her drive to succeed at the college level. Her goals at Vincennes are clear and direct—“to start and to win.” Guided by her simple but powerful motto, “Keep going,” Jalyn approaches every practice with patience and determination, never satisfied until she’s improved from the day before.

Off the court, Jalyn’s personality shines through her humor and warmth. She loves reading and playing games, unwinding with Heartland or listening to pop music and her favorite song, “Praying” by Kesha. Her go-to foods are snow crab and sushi, and she admits her guilty pleasure is coffee cake with Mountain Dew for a midnight snack. She dreams of visiting Italy one day and driving the latest Toyota Camry, but for now, she’s happy behind the wheel of her 2017 Nissan Rogue.

Majoring in Secondary Education, Jalyn plans to become a biology teacher, combining her love for science and mentorship. Her dream job as a veterinarian reflects her lifelong affection for animals and her patient, caring nature. Known by teammates for her straightforward sense of humor—she often laughs that her favorite word is “bruh”—she describes herself as competitive but easygoing, someone who loves the game yet never loses sight of what really matters.

Jalyn chose Vincennes University because she “liked the place,” finding in it the perfect balance of opportunity and comfort.
