Bio

Motivated by her family and fueled by the advice “Work hard and play smart,” Luna Luca strives to grow every day — both as an athlete and as a person.

Before coming to Vincennes, Luna established herself as one of Albania’s top young players. Competing for Tirana Sports Club under coach Mirza Alibegaj, she led her teams to multiple championships, including back-to-back national titles and a third-place finish at the U18 European National Tournament, where she also earned the “Fair Play” Award. Those experiences shaped her confidence and drive, proving that dedication and humility can take her anywhere. Her favorite moment so far came when she made her national team and celebrated a second consecutive championship — a memory she calls “unforgettable.”

Luna’s personality is a balance of focus and humor. She describes herself as “nonchalant at first,” but those who know her quickly see her playful, thoughtful side. She loves chocolate (enough to make it both her favorite food and midnight snack), enjoys reading and watching movies, and spends her free time hanging out with family and friends. Her favorite book and film are both Call Me By Your Name, which she says taught her to appreciate small moments and individuality. She listens to Albanian music, especially “Is It A Crime” by Mariah the Scientist and Kali Uchis, and admits she can’t imagine a week without food or laughter.

Majoring in Economics, Luna dreams of building a future that merges business with basketball. Her long-term goal is to “go far with basketball and then settle down,” possibly as an entrepreneur — or as she puts it, her dream job is simply “Boss.” She wears her jersey number because “it was XL,” laughing at the coincidence but embracing it as her signature. Her motto, “Time heals all wounds,” reflects her maturity and perspective both on and off the court.

Luna chose Vincennes University because she “loved the coaches and the program they are trying to create.” She values the community, the opportunity for growth, and the sense of belonging she’s found within the team.
