Bio

Amani Aloui arrives at Vincennes with an accomplished distance background and a clear competitive ceiling in mind. Competing in cross country and track and field, she focuses on the 1500 meters, mile, 3000, and 5000, with individual goals centered on earning All-American honors. From a team standpoint, she places strong emphasis on collective success, targeting All-American performance in the distance medley relay. One of the defining moments of her career came when she captured a cross country championship, a result that affirmed her place among elite competitors.

Amani draws her motivation primarily from her mother and the support of her family, whom she says she cannot imagine being without for a full week. Her mindset is built on strength and resilience, guided by simple advice she lives by: stay strong. Since arriving at Vincennes, she has learned the importance of working as a unit, valuing teamwork as a central part of both training and competition.

Academically, Amani is pursuing General Studies while continuing to develop her English skills, which she lists as her favorite class. Her long-term aspiration is to become a doctor, and she approaches both academics and athletics with the same sense of discipline and focus that has defined her running career.

Outside of competition, Amani keeps her routine minimal and centered on recovery and balance. She lists couscous as her favorite food, enjoys watching cross country, and names Habiba Ghribi as her favorite athlete. She is often described as kind and approachable when first meeting others, reflecting a calm presence that complements her competitive drive.

Amani chose Vincennes University because of her connection with Coach Tyler Steigenga and the opportunity to continue developing as both a student and an athlete in a team-focused environment that aligns with her goals.

Coach Mangan on Amani...
