Bio

At VU, Ikram Dorai has set her sights on becoming an All-American while helping the Trailblazers achieve strong team finishes. She is motivated by prayer, inspired by Tunisian Olympic silver medalist Habiba Ghribi, and guided by the advice to “be patient.” She admits she can’t imagine a week without staying in touch with her boyfriend, who also serves as a motivator, and jokes that people’s first impression of her is often just that she’s “beautiful.” Known for her competitiveness, she adds a playful side to her preparation with small superstitions, like talking to her boyfriend before races for good luck.

Off the track, Ikram is pursuing General Studies, keeping her career plans open while aspiring to one day become a doctor. She enjoys listening to music, swimming, and running, and lists couscous as her favorite food and chips as her go-to midnight snack. She also dreams of one day visiting Los Angeles, watching the Diamond League in person, and breaking the 1500m record.

Ikram chose Vincennes University because of its strong sports program and the opportunity to continue competing internationally while pursuing her education. With her drive, international background, and a motto of dreaming big and never giving up, she is eager to make an impact for the Trailblazers both on the course and the track.
