Bio
Josephine “Josie” Lade's most memorable moment as an athlete came when she earned her scholarship to continue competing at the collegiate level, calling it the fulfillment of a dream she had chased since childhood. At VU, Josie’s goals are to improve steadily in her distance events, particularly the 5K and 2-mile, and to help her teammates bond and support one another throughout the season. She is motivated by the guidance of her coach, the encouragement of her family, and her own determination to “get better than my past self and heal out all the way.” She embraces the advice to “just show up,” believing that discipline and consistency are the foundation of success.
Off the course, Josie is pursuing a degree in Kinesiology, with career aspirations of working in physical therapy or with a sports team in an athletic training capacity. Her dream job would be to serve as a physical therapist for a professional franchise, combining her love for athletics with her interest in health and wellness. Outside of academics, she enjoys playing Minecraft, working out, and collecting Pokémon cards, a hobby she admits few people know about. She also has a playful side, saying if she could break any record, it would be for running a marathon, and if she were coach for a day, she’d reward her teammates with treats after practice.
Josie chose Vincennes University because of its welcoming environment and the opportunity to continue competing while preparing for her future career. With her persistence, humility, and positive outlook, she is eager to contribute to the Trailblazers as both a runner and a supportive teammate.
