Sullivan Named NJCAA Region XXIV Player of the Week
VINCENNES, Ind. – Vincennes University freshman Kenli Sullivan (Bloomfield, Ind.) has been named the NJCAA Region XXIV Women's Volleyball Player of the Week for the week of September 1, after powering the Trailblazers to a perfect 4-0 week at the Owens Community College Invitational.
Sullivan, a 6-0 outside hitter/opposite, was a force on both sides of the ball as VU swept Clark State and Terra State, and earned hard-fought victories over Danville Area and Muskegon. She averaged 3.68 kills per set while hitting .345 across the four matches, while also contributing nearly two digs per set.
Her standout performances included:
- 21 kills and 9 digs in a five-set victory over Muskegon
- 12 kills, 10 digs, and 3 aces in a four-set win against Danville
- 10 kills on .625 hitting in a sweep of Terra State
- 8 kills, .533 hitting, and 3 aces in a sweep of Clark State
Head Coach Gary Sien praised Sullivan's immediate impact.
"Kenli is already proving to be a complete six-rotation player for us," Sien said. "Her consistency and confidence have been crucial to our success to start the season."
A two-time Area Player of the Year at Bloomington North, Sullivan is pursuing a degree in Business Management at VU. She becomes the first Trailblazer volleyball player to earn Region XXIV Player of the Week honors in the 2025 season.
With Sullivan leading the way, Vincennes University Volleyball improved to 6-0 overall, including a 2-0 record in Region 24 play. The Trailblazers return home Tuesday, September 2, to face Lake Land College at 7 p.m. in a key Region 24 contest.
