Bio
At VU, Alexis Hale has set personal and team goals that reflect her competitive spirit and determination. She hopes to break 20 minutes in the 5K, continue lowering her times in the 800m and 1600m, and help the Trailblazers enjoy both success and fun along the way. She embraces the advice to “control what you can control” and admits her motivation comes from making her family, teammates, and coaches proud. Known for her humor and love of people, she jokes that when others first meet her, “I’ve never met me,” and she proudly calls her team both her support system and her source of laughter.
Outside of running, Alexis is pursuing a double major in English and Business, with plans to transfer after VU to complete her bachelor’s degree and eventually work in business. Her dream job, however, would be as a writer, combining her love for creative expression with her professional ambitions. She also works at CUTCO selling knives, balancing athletics, academics, and employment. Her hobbies include running, listening to music, driving, watching movies, and reading. A passionate fan of Taylor Swift, she calls the superstar her biggest inspiration and says she can’t imagine a week without her music. Her lucky number is 28, her favorite food is Chinese, and she keeps quirky superstitions like naming black cats when she sees them.
Alexis chose Vincennes University because of the trust she has in her coach and the bond she has with her teammates. With her determination, humor, and a motto to “be yourself,” she is eager to continue her journey as a Trailblazer, both in the classroom and on the course.
Coach Steigenga on Alexis...
"Alexis enters her sophomore season on a roll after showing major improvement in both cross country and track as a freshman. She’ll look to take another big step forward this year."
