Jasmyn Self

Bio

At VU, Jasmyn Self’s season goals are ambitious. Personally, she hopes to complete the half marathon, while for the team she wants to ensure “everyone has a good season.” She embraces the advice to “be yourself” and says she is motivated by the fear of failure, which pushes her to keep working harder. Known for her confidence and personality, she says people often think she is “outgoing” when they first meet her. She also admits to having a quirky superstition of not splitting the pole when walking with friends.

Off the course, Jasmyn is pursuing a degree in Fire Science, with the long-term goal of becoming a flight medic. She plans to complete her EMT, paramedic, and fire science certifications to build toward her dream job. She enjoys running, reading, and cleaning — something she says nobody realizes she loves to do — and she can’t imagine a week without talking to her family. Her favorite food is steak, her favorite midnight snack is Reese’s, and she enjoys country music, Gilmore Girls, and the movie The Notebook. She also dreams of traveling to Australia and would love to attend a St. Louis Cardinals baseball game.

Jasmyn chose Vincennes University because she loved the campus and the opportunity it provided to continue both her athletic and academic journey. With her determination, personality, and motto to simply be herself, she looks forward to leaving her mark as a Trailblazer.
