Brady Cloyd

Bio

First baseman Brady Cloyd brings personality, competitiveness, and a straightforward approach to both baseball and life to the Vincennes University program. A native of Connersville, Indiana, Cloyd chose to continue his career at Vincennes largely because of the academic opportunities available, allowing him to pursue studies in Precision Machining while continuing to compete at a high level on the diamond.

Known for his humor and relaxed personality off the field, Brady balances that demeanor with a gritty, competitive edge when it’s time to play. Motivated by past setbacks and fueled by a desire to continually improve, he approaches each season focused on helping the team take steps forward and build on previous success. One of the defining moments of his career came during a regional championship run in high school, an experience that reinforced the value of teamwork and postseason success.

Baseball has long been part of Brady’s family background as well, following in the footsteps of his father, a former collegiate player at Huntington University. That influence helped shape his love for the game and his long-term dream of continuing to compete at the highest levels possible. Inspired by all-time great Pete Rose, he embraces a hard-nosed mentality and enjoys the everyday grind that comes with the sport.

Away from competition, Brady enjoys spending time with friends, playing poker, and simply having fun — something he considers an important part of staying balanced throughout a long season. A former multi-sport athlete who competed in both baseball and basketball at Connersville High School, he brings athletic versatility and toughness to first base.

Whether working toward a future career in machining or chasing opportunities to extend his playing career, Brady approaches each opportunity with honesty and authenticity, guided by a mindset shaped through experience: learn from failure, compete hard, and never take the game — or life — too seriously.
