Bio
At VU, Colton Martin’s goals are centered on steady growth and team achievement. Personally, he wants to perform better than last year and place higher, while for the team he hopes to help the Trailblazers make it to Nationals. He is motivated by his parents, inspired by the advice to “follow your dreams, no matter how big,” and guided by his personal motto of “never give up.” Known for his quiet nature, he admits people often think he is shy when they first meet him, but his teammates quickly discover his focus and work ethic.
Off the lanes, Colton is pursuing a degree in Cybersecurity, with career aspirations of working in the technology field and one day owning his own company. His hobbies include art and drawing, something most people don’t realize he enjoys, and he says he can’t imagine a week without his phone. His favorite foods are pasta and Cheez-Its, his favorite book series is The Magic Treehouse, and his favorite movie is Pirates of the Caribbean. He also enjoys How I Met Your Mother, listens to Eminem, and dreams of owning an Audi R8. If he could trade places with anyone for a day, he says it would be Jeff Bezos “because he is rich.”
Colton chose Vincennes University because it offered more opportunities, affordability, and a supportive team environment. Supported by his parents, Chris and Gina Martin, and siblings Carter, CJ, and Cooper, Colton says the best part of being an athlete at VU is that “everyone is nice and tries to support each other.” With his determination, family motivation, and motto to never give up, he looks forward to contributing to the Trailblazers’ success.
Coach LeMond on Colton...
"Colton is a talented two-hander recognized nationally for his skill with the Rose ball. He averaged 188 last season and is focused on composure and consistent shot-making."
