Bio
At VU, Ryan Webber’s personal goal is to have one of the highest averages on the team, while for the Trailblazers his goal is clear: win Nationals. He is motivated by wanting to be better than his opponents and even his teammates, a drive that pushes him every day in practice and competition. Known for his sense of humor, Ryan says when people first meet him, they usually think he’s funny, but behind the humor lies a competitive edge. Guided by the advice to “never give up” and his favorite motto, “it is what it is,” Ryan embraces the work ethic needed to excel.
Off the lanes, Ryan is pursuing a degree in Business Administration, with long-term career plans of owning his own successful business. He enjoys gaming, bowling, and hanging out with friends, and admits that nobody realizes just how much he sleeps. He can’t imagine a week without food, calls Holes his favorite book, Friends his favorite TV show, and Time Trap his favorite movie. He also enjoys rap and hip-hop, especially Future’s Solo. His favorite food is Alfredo, with Rice Krispies as his go-to midnight snack, and he dreams of visiting France. He also admires Steph Curry, calls Riley Speer the best athlete he has faced, and would love to attend a 49ers game.
Ryan chose Vincennes University because it was close to home and offered him the opportunity to continue competing while preparing for his career. Supported by his parents, Bart and Jerri Webber (who both competed in sports themselves), and his sister Tamrah, he says the best part of being an athlete at VU is that everyone is nice and gets along. With his humor, competitive fire, and drive to outwork those around him, Ryan is ready to make an impact for the Trailblazers.
