Bio

Robert Burns enters the season focused on personal records and academic success. His individual goals include improving his hurdle performances while keeping his grades on track, while his team goal is continued progression through performance improvement. His most memorable athletic moment came when he broke his school record, an achievement that reinforced his competitive mindset. He identifies money as his primary motivation and lists discipline as the area he is most focused on improving.

Academically, Robert majors in Welding and plans to pursue a career as a professional welder. He names welding as his favorite class at Vincennes and values the hands-on nature of the program. He credits his background and support system—particularly his grandmother Jayne—as influential in his development.

Outside of competition, Robert enjoys working out and playing golf. His favorite athlete is Grant Holloway, and he lists football as his favorite sport to watch. His favorite song is “Ion Wanna Hear It,” and his dream car is a Rolls-Royce. He says he can’t imagine a week without track, and that people often describe him as quiet when they first meet him.

Robert chose Vincennes University because it aligned with his personal and practical goals.
