Bio
Travon Lane brings a confident, results-driven approach into the season as a multi-event sprinter and jumper. Competing in the 200 meters, 400 meters, long jump, and 4x400 relay, his primary individual target is breaking the 47.4 mark in the 400 while continuing to chase record-level performances. From a team standpoint, his mindset is straightforward: compete to win. One of his most memorable moments came anchoring a relay leg, where he tracked down competitors late in the race to secure position for his team.
Travon is fueled by ambition and competition, motivated by the pursuit of school and collegiate records. He lives by the advice to “run my own race,” keeping his focus internal rather than external. Known for his humor and relaxed demeanor, he balances confidence with a willingness to learn, continuing to sharpen his skills as he transitions further into the college environment.
Academically, Travon majors in Welding and approaches his studies with an open mindset, focused on learning and developing practical skills for the future. While his long-term dream includes running professionally, he values building a foundation beyond the track through hands-on education.
Away from competition, Travon enjoys playing video games and watching TV. He lists hibachi as his favorite food and Mambas as his preferred snack. He enjoys watching soccer, names Grown Ups as his favorite movie, and says he can’t imagine a week without water. He is often described as funny when first meeting others and brings that energy into team settings.
Travon chose Vincennes University as a place to continue his athletic growth while developing new skills, embracing the opportunity to compete, learn, and push toward his goals both on and off the track.
