Bio

Pitcher Braeden Burton brings a competitive edge and strong family-driven motivation to the Vincennes University baseball program, combining a quiet demeanor with an approach centered on consistency and enjoyment of the game. A native of Franklin, Indiana, Burton chose Vincennes because it provided the best overall opportunity to continue developing as a player while pursuing his academic goals.

Though often described as reserved when first meeting people, Braeden lets his work ethic and performance speak for themselves once competition begins. Baseball has long been a central part of his life, highlighted by the unforgettable moment of hitting his first career home run — an achievement that reinforced both his confidence and passion for the sport. On the mound, his goals remain simple and team-focused: log meaningful innings, compete consistently, and help lead the Trailblazers toward a return to the NJCAA World Series.

Family serves as Braeden’s primary motivation, continuing a strong baseball lineage that includes his father’s collegiate playing career. That foundation has helped shape a mindset grounded in enjoying the process, reflected in the advice that has stayed with him throughout his career: have fun while playing the game.

Away from baseball, Braeden enjoys spending time on the golf course, playing video games, and competing with friends in poker. Golf in particular has become a personal passion, with dreams of one day chasing records at the highest levels of the sport. Inspired by Major League Baseball star Bryce Harper and intrigued by the history of the game, he has often imagined sitting down with Babe Ruth to hear firsthand what baseball looked like in earlier eras.

A Business Administration major and decorated high school standout at Franklin Community High School, Braeden earned All-District, All-Conference, and All-County honors while helping lead championship-winning teams at multiple levels. Whether chasing a professional baseball career or exploring opportunities in sports marketing, he continues to approach each season with the same mindset — compete hard, enjoy the moment, and make the most of every opportunity.
