Aiden Vaught

Bio

Catcher Aiden Vaught brings grit, personality, and a deep-rooted passion for baseball to the Vincennes University program. A native of Evansville, Indiana, Vaught chose Vincennes because of the strong relationship he built with the coaching staff and the opportunity to continue pursuing both his athletic goals and academic interests in Construction Technology close to home.

Motivated by the example and support of his father, Aiden approaches the game with determination and loyalty to the people who helped shape his journey. His goals entering the collegiate level focus on earning a starting role behind the plate while helping the Trailblazers compete for championships. One of the defining moments of his athletic career came during his senior season at Evansville North High School when he competed in the state championship, an experience that strengthened his appreciation for preparation and high-pressure competition.

Known for giving the immediate impression of being a “baseball guy,” Aiden embraces the grind of the sport and admits he can’t imagine going a full week without being around the game. Inspired heavily by Hall of Fame catcher Yadier Molina, he values leadership, toughness, and accountability at one of baseball’s most demanding positions. He even dreams of trading places with Molina during his prime just to experience the daily routine required to compete at the highest level.

Off the field, Aiden enjoys fishing and spending time outdoors, finding balance away from competition while maintaining a strong commitment to improvement. He carries meaningful traditions into every game as well, including wearing a bracelet given to him by his mother that he never removes — a reminder of family support wherever baseball takes him.

Guided by advice encouraging him to never give up on what makes him happy, Aiden approaches each opportunity with persistence and authenticity. Looking ahead, he hopes to build a career in construction management while continuing to pursue baseball as far as possible. Whether building relationships with teammates, preparing for the next pitch behind the plate, or simply enjoying the game he loves, he brings toughness, humor, and dedication to the Trailblazer roster.
