Bio
At VU, Cadyn “CC” Coddington's goals reflect his ambitious but grounded approach. Individually, he hopes to make varsity 90 percent of the time, while for the team he wants to help the Trailblazers win a tournament. Known for his straightforward and lighthearted nature, he admits he doesn’t always know what people think when they first meet him, but his teammates quickly learn how dedicated he is to the sport. He embraces the advice to “never give up” and says his biggest motivation is knowing “there’s always someone else who is working just as hard, if not harder, for your spot.”
Off the lanes, Cadyn is majoring in Fire Science with career plans to become a firefighter. His dream job is serving as a firefighter full time, and he enjoys taking firefighting-related courses at VU. His hobbies include bowling, pickleball, and hanging out with friends, and he admits he can’t imagine a week without food. His favorites include sushi and Oreos, 911 as his favorite TV show, and country music with “Worst Way” as his go-to song. He also dreams of attending the World Cup, visiting Argentina, and one day breaking the record for rolling the most 800 series. Known for his humor, he jokes that if a movie were made about his life, it would be titled I Swear I Had a Plan.
Cadyn chose Vincennes University because it offered the Fire Science degree he wanted while giving him the chance to bowl at the collegiate level. Supported by his parents, Mindy and Wayne Coddington, he says the best part of being an athlete at VU is the benefits, the support, and the camaraderie within the team. With his humor, work ethic, and commitment to his goals, Cadyn is ready to make an impact as a Trailblazer.
