At VU, Tad Harvey’s season goals are direct and ambitious — both for himself and his team, the goal is to win. He is motivated by money and driven by competition, guided by the advice to “believe in yourself.” Known for his humor, Tad says when people first meet him, they usually just think he’s “funny.” He wears #52 in honor of his favorite athlete, Clay Matthews, and his favorite saying is the straightforward motto, “It is what it is.”
Off the lanes, Tad is majoring in Cybersecurity, with long-term career plans to join the Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department (IMPD). His dream job is to serve in law enforcement, combining his interest in public service with his professional studies. He enjoys video games, cars, and collecting old memorabilia, and says he can’t imagine a week without money. His favorites include Alfredo pasta, Cheez-Its as a midnight snack, Reacher as a TV show, and 2 Fast 2 Furious as his favorite movie. He also enjoys rap music, especially Lil Durk’s No Interviews, and admires baseball star Max Clark, now playing in Double-A, as the best athlete he has ever faced .
Tad chose Vincennes University because of its affordability and the opportunity to bowl while pursuing a degree in cybersecurity. Supported by his parents, Barry and Natalie Harvey, both of whom attended Ball State, and his brother Tristan, Tad says the best part of being an athlete at VU is simply the experiences. With his humor, confidence, and motto to chase his dreams, Tad looks forward to building his legacy with the Trailblazers.
