Bio

Right-handed pitcher Eastin Whaley brings confidence, personality, and big-picture ambition to the Vincennes University baseball program. A native of Kokomo, Indiana, Whaley chose Vincennes because of the campus environment and the opportunity to continue competing at the collegiate level while pursuing a degree in Business — a field that aligns with his long-term entrepreneurial goals.

Motivated by his future and the drive to build something successful beyond baseball, Eastin approaches the game with confidence and high expectations. His individual goals include earning All-Conference, All-Region, and All-American recognition while helping lead the Trailblazers on a strong postseason run. Some of the most memorable moments of his athletic career have come during playoff victories, experiences that reinforced his love for meaningful competition and the energy of high-stakes baseball.

Known for leaving a bold first impression — often joking that people initially think he’s a little crazy — Eastin embraces individuality and enjoys bringing personality into the clubhouse. Guided by advice encouraging him to chase his dreams, he approaches opportunities with ambition and confidence. Inspired by standout pitcher Paul Skenes, he dreams of pushing his own limits on the mound, even imagining breaking records such as throwing the fastest pitch ever.

A multi-sport athlete at Northwestern High School who competed in both baseball and football, Eastin developed toughness and competitiveness through year-round athletics. Baseball also runs deep in his family background, as his father played collegiately at Northern Kentucky, helping shape his early connection to the sport. Since arriving at Vincennes, he has embraced the chance to simply enjoy playing college baseball — something he considers one of the best parts of being a student-athlete.

Away from the field, Eastin enjoys hunting, boating, country music, and spending time outdoors, often choosing experiences that allow him to recharge between competition. A fan of Duck Dynasty and movies like Happy Gilmore, he appreciates humor and competition equally. Few people realize just how much he values hunting trips, which rank among his favorite ways to spend time away from baseball.

Looking ahead, Eastin hopes to build a future as a successful entrepreneur while continuing to pursue baseball opportunities as far as the game will take him. Whether imagining a World Series Game 7 atmosphere, dreaming about traveling to France someday, or simply competing alongside teammates each day, he approaches every opportunity with confidence, humor, and a relentless focus on what comes next as a Trailblazer.
