Bio

Pitcher Aidan Leonard brings a singular focus and deep passion for the game to the Vincennes University baseball program. A native of Hobart, Indiana, Leonard chose to continue his career at Vincennes because of the opportunity to compete every day in an environment centered around development and winning — something that closely aligns with his lifelong commitment to baseball.

For Aidan, the game has always been more than just a sport. Baseball serves as both motivation and identity, shaping nearly every goal he sets for himself moving forward. His primary focus entering the collegiate level is simple and direct: continue improving, increase velocity, and compete at the highest level possible. That drive is fueled internally, as he credits himself as his biggest source of motivation and constantly challenges himself to work harder and improve each day.

One of the most memorable moments of Aidan’s athletic career came when he delivered a walk-off victory, a moment that reinforced his love for high-pressure situations and competing alongside teammates. Guided by the straightforward advice to work hard, he approaches each opportunity with a mindset centered on effort and consistency rather than distractions.

Athletics run deep in Aidan’s family background. His father played quarterback at Ball State, and his grandfather competed as a wide receiver at Butler, influences that helped shape his competitive nature and appreciation for sports at a young age. A multi-sport athlete at Hobart High School who also competed in basketball and football, he developed athleticism and toughness that continue to benefit him on the mound.

Majoring in Kinesiology, Aidan hopes to remain connected to baseball long into the future, with aspirations centered on continuing his playing career as far as the game will take him. Inspired by power pitchers such as Ben Joyce and all-time great hitters like Barry Bonds, he embraces the pursuit of excellence while keeping his focus on the simple things that matter most — working hard, competing every day, and continuing to chase the game he loves.
