Left-handed pitcher Brody Wenzler brings a relaxed confidence, competitive drive, and genuine appreciation for the game to the Vincennes University baseball program. A native of Winamac, Indiana, Wenzler chose Vincennes because of the opportunity it provided both academically and athletically, allowing him to continue developing on the mound while pursuing a degree in Business Management.

Motivated by personal growth and the progress he has made throughout his baseball journey, Brody approaches competition with quiet determination. His individual goals focus on maintaining a sub-3.00 earned run average and piling up strikeouts, while his expectations for the Trailblazers center on winning playoff games and competing deep into the postseason. One of the most memorable moments of his athletic career came during high school when he set the single-game strikeout record, a performance that highlighted both his competitiveness and ability to rise to big moments.

Known for leaving a laid-back first impression, Brody embraces a calm demeanor that translates well to the mound. Guided by advice reminding him not to worry about what others think, he focuses on trusting his preparation and continuing to improve each outing. Inspired by Chicago Cubs standout Pete Crow-Armstrong, he brings energy and confidence to every opportunity while continuing to chase long-term dreams of playing professional baseball.

A standout at Winamac Community High School, Brody earned First Team All-HNAC honors twice during his career, establishing himself as one of the area’s top pitchers. Baseball remains central to his life — something few people realize just how deeply he loves — and he values the daily routine that comes with training and competition. Since arriving at Vincennes, he has embraced learning how different the college experience can be while appreciating the opportunities available to student-athletes within the program.

Away from the field, Brody enjoys lifting, playing video games, and relaxing with music, often listening to jazz before games as part of his preparation routine. A fan of movies like Interstellar and the Harry Potter series, he also enjoys imagining what it would be like to experience life from a completely different perspective — even joking about trading places with the President for a day just to understand the responsibility that comes with the role.

Looking ahead, Brody plans to graduate from Vincennes and continue his baseball career at a four-year institution while pursuing opportunities that keep him connected to the sport. Whether chasing strikeout milestones, dreaming of a Game 7 atmosphere, or simply enjoying the everyday grind of improvement, he approaches each opportunity with gratitude, humor, and a steady focus on becoming better every day as a Trailblazer.
