Bio
At VU, Kollin Kelsey’s goals are focused on both personal growth and team success. Individually, he wants to continue improving mentally while sharpening his on-course performance. For the Trailblazers, he hopes to help lead the program back to the NJCAA National Championship. Motivated by winning and guided by the advice to “work hard every day of the week,” he embraces a simple but relentless approach to competition. Known for his outgoing personality, he laughs that when people first meet him, they usually think “I talk too much.”
Off the course, Kollin is majoring in Agricultural Business, with long-term plans to pursue farming as a career. His dream job is to work his family farm, continuing a legacy that is deeply important to him. He enjoys fishing, hunting, and spending time with family, and says he can’t imagine a week without God. His favorite food is steak, his favorite book is Little Red Book, and his favorite movie is The Greatest Game Ever Played, which reflects his passion for golf. He also loves college basketball, country vacations to Myrtle Beach, and listening to Forrest Frank. Superstitious or not, he carries a competitive mindset, admitting that “nobody knows how much I wanna win.”
Kollin chose Vincennes University because it was close to home and because of the unique opportunity to play for Coach Dennis Chattin, whom he describes as “like no other coach in the world.” Supported by his parents, Beth and Willis Kelsey, and his brother Konner, Kollin is eager to compete, improve, and represent the Trailblazers with pride.
Coach Chattin on Kollin...
"Kollin has posted low rounds and brings a great attitude. He is coachable, team-oriented, and willing to put in the work."
