Bio

Motivated by her life experiences and her deep love for the game, Netala 'Nat' Dixon plays with the mindset that “it gets greater later,” a phrase that reminds her to keep going through every obstacle.

Nat’s most memorable moment came when she helped her high school team win a state championship, a victory that solidified her dream of playing college basketball. Her goals now are even bigger: become the best version of herself and help Vincennes University compete for a national championship. She wears No. 1, a number that represents her drive to lead — not just on the floor, but in how she carries herself every day.

Off the court, Nat describes herself as laid-back and independent. She loves hooping, shopping, gaming, and taking pictures, and admits she can’t imagine a week without her phone or time alone to reset. Her favorite food is seafood and wings, her favorite artist is Jhene Aiko, and her go-to song is “While We’re Young.” Her favorite show, Everybody Hates Chris, and favorite movie, The Princess and the Frog, reflect her playful but thoughtful personality. She laughs that people often think she’s mean when they first meet her — but once they get to know her, they see her humor, heart, and loyalty shine through.

A proud graduate of Dyersburg High School, Nat credits her parents, Kanisha Dixon and Chris Livingston, both former athletes, for her competitiveness and work ethic. Their example taught her to fight through adversity and “always keep your head up.” She’s majoring in General Studies, with long-term plans to work in the classroom as a teacher and coach, guiding the next generation of student-athletes with the same lessons she’s learned.

Nat chose Vincennes University because she felt it was “where I had to be.”
