Bio

Utility player Grady Hartman brings versatility, competitive drive, and an outgoing personality to the Vincennes University baseball program. Originally born in Denver, Colorado, and raised in Ponte Vedra Beach, Florida, Hartman chose Vincennes as an opportunity to continue developing as a player while pursuing a degree in Business Administration and positioning himself for the next level of competition.

Comfortable playing second base, third base, or in the outfield, Grady values adaptability and embraces any role that helps the team succeed. His goals entering the collegiate level center on earning a spot in the starting lineup while building lifelong relationships with teammates and contributing to conference championships and postseason success. The opportunity to keep playing the game he loves remains one of the biggest motivations behind his decision to become a Trailblazer.

Grady’s competitive mindset developed early, highlighted by earning a varsity starting role as a freshman in high school — a milestone that stands as one of the most memorable moments of his career. During his senior season at Ponte Vedra High School, he served as team captain while leading the program in multiple offensive categories, including batting average, OPS, and on-base percentage, while also recording the fewest strikeouts on the roster. A two-time district champion and district batting average champion, he finished his career second all-time in games played at the school.

Known for his outgoing nature and team-first mentality, Grady enjoys bringing energy to both practices and competition. Away from baseball, he spends time golfing, fishing, lifting, and staying active outdoors, valuing fresh air and physical activity as an important part of maintaining balance. Inspired by elite competitors across sports, including NBA star Nikola Jokić and MLB third baseman Nolan Arenado, he approaches improvement with patience and long-term perspective, guided by advice that reminds him progress comes with persistence.

Looking ahead, Grady hopes to continue chasing professional baseball opportunities while also exploring future paths in law or business. Whether organizing team bonding activities, working toward individual milestones, or striving to break hitting records, he approaches each opportunity with enthusiasm, strong leadership qualities, and a commitment to becoming the best version of himself both on and off the field.
