Bio
At VU, Kadin “Gibby” Gibson's goals are ambitious but clear: he wants to average 72 or better, win multiple events, and help the Trailblazers compete for a national championship. He is motivated by failure and disappointment, which fuel his determination to improve, and guided by the advice that “sacrifice is needed to become what you dream of.” Known for his intensity and focus, he laughs that when people first meet him, they often think he seems “cold” or “a little weird,” but those closest to him know that golf is always on his mind. His quirky superstitions include refusing to wear the same hat two days in a row.
Off the course, Kadin is majoring in Business Administration with aspirations of playing golf professionally. His dream job is to compete on the PGA Tour, though he also sees himself working in business if his path shifts. He enjoys basketball, video games, and volunteering with the Johnson County Humane Society, but says he can’t imagine a week without golf. A fan of Phil Mickelson, whom he’d trade places with for a day, Kadin also admires Tiger Woods and dreams of one day attending The Masters. He says if he could break any record, it would be to become the first left-handed golfer to win the U.S. Open.
Kadin chose Vincennes University because of the opportunity to play at the collegiate level and develop his game without the pressure of competing offers. Supported by his parents, Eric Gibson (a former swimmer, golfer, and baseball player at Purdue and IUPUI) and Kristina Corbin, along with his siblings Raevin Dye and Huntley Mullis, he is eager to make his mark as a Trailblazer. With his passion, discipline, and motto of perseverance, he looks forward to helping VU golf compete against the nation’s best.
Coach Chattin on Kadin...
"Kadin is a hard competitor with strong experience from last season and numerous summer tournaments. He’s a gamer who often performs better in competition than in practice."
