Two-way player Drake Hoffa brings creativity, curiosity, and a strong sense of purpose to the Vincennes University baseball program. A native of Cloverdale, Indiana, Hoffa chose Vincennes because it provided the opportunity to develop as both a pitcher and position player while receiving strong scholarship support and a clear pathway toward future academic and athletic goals.

Driven by a belief in his untapped potential, Drake approaches baseball as a constant process of growth. His individual goals focus on increasing pitching velocity, throwing a complete game, contributing offensively, and continuing to grow as a teammate. One of the defining moments of his athletic career came during his sophomore year of high school when his team captured a sectional championship — an experience that reinforced his appreciation for preparation and collective success.

Academics and long-term planning play a significant role in Drake’s journey as well. Majoring in Engineering Science with an emphasis toward Civil Engineering, he hopes to pursue baseball for as long as possible before transitioning into designing sustainable tiny homes. That creative ambition reflects broader interests shaped by curiosity and innovation, including a desire to meet Leonardo da Vinci to better understand how one of history’s greatest inventors approached problem-solving.

Known for being respectful and well-mannered when meeting new people, Drake also values time outdoors and personal reflection, often enjoying hunting, fishing, shooting sports, or simply spending time outside. Inspired by Major League pitcher Trevor Bauer, he embraces the technical side of pitching while chasing ambitious goals such as setting single-season strikeout records.

A multi-sport athlete at Cloverdale High School who competed in both baseball and football, Drake earned numerous academic and athletic honors, including Academic All-State recognition in football, All-County honors in multiple sports, and repeated All-Academic conference selections. Whether working toward professional baseball aspirations or preparing for a future in engineering, he approaches every opportunity with balance and perspective, guided by simple advice that shapes his outlook: enjoy every moment and continue striving to improve.
