Middle infielder Tannar Patterson brings competitiveness, discipline, and a strong belief in preparation to the Vincennes University baseball program. A native of Heath, Ohio, Patterson chose Vincennes because it offered the right academic pathway for his Exercise Science studies while allowing him to continue competing at a high level and pursuing long-term goals in sports performance and rehabilitation fields such as physical therapy or chiropractic care.

Motivated largely by internal standards and a desire to maximize his potential, Tannar approaches the game with a process-driven mindset. Rather than focusing strictly on statistics, he emphasizes quality at-bats and consistent hard contact, guided by advice reminding him to prioritize strong swings over batting average. His personal goals include producing offensively with a .350 season or consistently hard-hit balls while limiting defensive mistakes — all contributing toward helping the Trailblazers chase consecutive regional championships.

Faith and routine play an important role in Tannar’s preparation. Before every game, he reads from the Bible as part of his pregame focus, reflecting a disciplined approach both mentally and spiritually. That perspective has helped shape memorable moments throughout his athletic career, including winning a state championship in high school and reaching pitching milestones early in his development that reinforced his confidence competing against elite talent.

A standout multi-sport athlete at Heath High School, Tannar earned All-Ohio recognition in baseball while helping lead championship teams that captured multiple district and regional titles along with a state championship. He also excelled on the football field, earning multiple All-Region and All-District honors. That diverse athletic background helped develop the toughness and athleticism he now brings to the middle infield.

Known for being somewhat reserved and self-reflective, Tannar balances quiet focus with strong competitiveness once the game begins. Away from baseball, he enjoys lifting, listening to music, and recharging through rest between demanding training sessions. Inspired by players such as Mike Trout and intrigued by elite pitchers like Paul Skenes and Ben Joyce, he embraces both offensive and athletic development as key parts of his growth.

Guided by the belief that someone will always be watching and learning from your example, Tannar strives to be a positive influence on younger athletes while continuing to chase his own ambitions in professional sports. Whether preparing for a future career helping others recover and perform at their best or working toward championship success on the field, he brings focus, humility, and determination to the Trailblazer program.
