Shortstop/right-handed pitcher Tyler Singleton brings confidence, energy, and an unwavering love for baseball to the Vincennes University program. A native of Evansville, Indiana, Singleton chose Vincennes because of its strong academic fit and top-tier athletic facilities, recognizing it as the ideal place to continue developing both in the classroom and on the diamond while pursuing a degree in Sports Management.

Driven by competition and the daily challenge of improvement, Tyler approaches the game with ambitious goals and a relentless mindset. His focus centers on producing consistently at the plate, limiting mistakes defensively, and helping the Trailblazers build a winning season together. One of the most memorable moments of his athletic career came when he closed out a victory against North High School, a performance that highlighted both composure and the ability to deliver in pressure situations.

Known for leaving a unique impression when first meeting people, Tyler balances personality with intense competitiveness once the game begins. Baseball has always been central to his life, something he says he can’t imagine going even a week without. Inspired by New York Yankees star Aaron Judge and fascinated by legendary hitters like Barry Bonds, he embraces the pursuit of offensive excellence while dreaming of someday competing on baseball’s biggest stages.

A multi-sport athlete at Harrison High School who also competed in basketball, Tyler earned Academic All-City honors twice while becoming a four-year varsity starter on the baseball field. His career included All-Metro and All-SIAC recognition along with the Sam Hartsfield Mental Attitude Award at the Ohio River Valley World Series, reflecting both performance and leadership qualities. Beyond athletics, he also dedicated time to community service, volunteering with organizations such as Cardio for Canines and Sleep in Heavenly Peace while mentoring younger students through leadership programs.

Away from baseball, Tyler enjoys working out, watching sports, and spending time with teammates and friends, often catching games at Buffalo Wild Wings. Guided by advice reminding him that failure is part of growth, he approaches setbacks with resilience and perspective. Looking ahead, he hopes to continue playing baseball as long as possible — ideally at the professional level — while building a future career connected to the sport.

Whether chasing hitting milestones, imagining the atmosphere of a future World Series, or simply putting in extra swings during batting practice, Tyler approaches every opportunity with passion, confidence, and a commitment to becoming better every day as a Trailblazer.
