Centerfielder Jevan Andrews brings a confident edge and competitive mindset to the Vincennes University baseball program, pairing quiet intensity with big-play ability on the field. A Chicago, Illinois native and Hobart High School graduate, Andrews chose Vincennes after finding a coaching staff that believed in his potential and gave him the opportunity to grow both as a player and a person.

Known among teammates as someone who lets his performance do the talking, Jevan embraces the “silent killer” mentality — not overly vocal, but always prepared when it’s time to compete. His passion for baseball has been shaped by memorable moments early in his career, including a walk-off home run during his freshman year of high school that helped cement his love for the game’s biggest stages.

Family serves as Jevan’s greatest motivation, particularly the example he hopes to set for his younger siblings. That perspective fuels ambitious goals both individually and collectively, as he aims to earn All-State recognition, continue his career at the NCAA Division I level, and ultimately help lead the Trailblazers toward an NJCAA World Series championship. Inspired by Major League Baseball legend Ken Griffey Jr., Jevan dreams of one day playing professionally or building a career within Major League Baseball.

Away from competition, Jevan enjoys listening to music and values personal growth during his time at VU, noting that one of his biggest lessons has been learning to build relationships and connect with others. A multi-sport athlete in high school who also competed in basketball and track, he brings athletic versatility and speed to centerfield — attributes that align with his goal of one day chasing stolen-base records.

Majoring in Business Administration, Jevan continues to balance long-term professional aspirations with daily improvement on the field, guided by advice that shapes his approach to competition and life: believe in yourself, even when others may not.
